At Salem Reformed Church, we know that the Church did not begin with us, and that we cannot stand alone. We are eager to express our interdependence with the broader body of Christ. We stand in a long line of faithful believers who have maintained and spread the faith for two thousand years; we also acknowledge that we labor and pray shoulder to shoulder with a community presently spread all over the world.
Knowing that brotherhood requires more than sentiment, but also accountability and service, Salem Reformed Church is seeking full membership in the Confederation of Reformed Evangelicals (CREC). (We were accepted as a candidate church at the meeting of Augustine Presbytery in October 2006.) We are sponsored in this effort by Christ Church (Branch Cove, AL).
The CREC is a rapidly-growing body of Reformed churches (approximately 60 churches are listed on the official web site), spread over the United States, Canada, Poland, Japan, and Russia. These churches all uphold classical Reformed Protestantism as set forth in confessional documents such as the Three Forms of Unity and the Westminster Standards. More information can be obtained from the CREC web site.
